This September, 3Point began piloting our High School Initiative as we seek to positively impact the high school, career, and college trajectory of the youth in our middle school programs.
Starting in two Boston Public Schools serving grades 7th -12th, TechBoston Academy and New Mission High School, 3Point’s 9th grade programming shifts to learning practical skills needed for success, as well as continuing our signature focus on developing social-emotional growth and 21st century skills. In preparation for the tasks that high school brings, our 9th grade students identify, research, and communicate about their identity, culture, and community. Our 10th grade program focuses on early career and college readiness, emphasizing practical skill development, including identifying individual strengths, increasing awareness of learning styles, developing time management skills, setting goals, and practicing disciplined decision-making. 3Point students in 11th grade and 12th grade focus on further college and career readiness, college and career counseling, SAT and ACT test preparation, the college and career application process, and college and career opportunities.
